I’m Marceliño (Ganso) Galvão. I’m a 37-year-old tattoo artist who dedicated myself to tattooing for almost 20 years. It all started when I was 17, and I went through the stage of being asked “Are you crazy? Tattoos are for gangsters!”; at the age of 20, I move to Rio de Janeiro to try out the life there. It was really difficult during the early years, but I did not give up, instead, I remained strong. I began to dream about traveling around the world when I was 26, to learn and to know millennial art better. I then traveled and lived in four different continents with my needles and my courage. Several years later, at the age of 31, we held the first big international tattoo event in Rio de Janeiro, Tattoo Week Rio, bringing the best tattooists in the world to our city, I also opened my first tattoo shop, King 7 tattoo, later that year. Now that I’m 37 years old, I want a quiet and well-structured space to work with and have my friends, clients and tattooists that I admire over, and Shelter Tattoo Rio came along after the idea.
 
Having a beautiful family, friends and a great woman. I can assure you if you have a dream, just go ahead and get it. Nothing in this world is impossible with dedication, with the love for what you do. Do not count on luck, only you can have the power to overcome your own obstacles and reach your dreams! I am thankful to all the people who supported me and counted on me for my art. I will continue to do my best!
